CSSSI Lower Level Renovation, Yale University
The Center for Science and Social Science Information (completed by Apicella + Bunton in 2011) is a popular study space in Kline Biology Tower on Yale’s campus. Our firm was engaged to convert CSSSI’s lower level to additional study space that serves the growing student population on campus.
The renovated space offers over 60 seats for either small group or individual study, including lounge seating, shared tables, and individual study carrels. A comprehensive lighting design, wood accents, and a variety of textures bring warmth to this lower level space.
The lower level also houses unique program elements including a seminar room, digital recording studio and Yale University Library’s contemporary map collection.
