A previous renovation of this private residence in Sudbury, Massachusetts had left the house’s proportions unbalanced and awkward. Apicella + Bunton renovated the home to remedy the disproportionate massing and provide space for a larger living room, a more formal entry, a new study, a three-car garage and a home theater.
The new design expands upon the existing architectural vocabulary and structural system, increasing the flat-roofed connecting mass to form the new foyer and adding another, larger mass to harmonize with the scale of the existing house.
In addition to the extensive interior renovations, Apicella + Bunton designed landscaping that provides for a new entry path, driveway and plantings throughout the property.
