Yale University Library Technical Services & DRMS
We completed a renovation and fit-out to meet the needs of Yale University Library Technical Services and Yale Preservation Digital Reformatting & Microfilming Services (DRMS).
The project includes new finishes, new and repurposed furniture, lighting upgrades in the Technical Services areas, and an entirely new suite for the DRMS department. Existing spaces were repurposed and updated as needed to meet the requirements of the departments, while maintaining the flexibility desired by the client.
New Technical Services spaces include open and private offices, meeting rooms, and a training room. Counter-height shelving provides privacy within the open offices. The DRMS suite includes collaborative open offices and a sound-isolated film and audio visual review room. Existing kitchens and meeting rooms are shared by the departments and were refreshed with new furniture. The project also includes a new shared lounge space filled with natural light, providing staff a space to relax and unwind.
