Fairfield Metro Center
The Fairfield Metro Center development is envisioned as an efficient, live-work environment along the Metro-North rail corridor in southern Connecticut. Apicella + Bunton completed the design for the residential portion of this LEED-certified mixed-use development that includes offices, a hotel, retail space, residential space and a new train station.
The residential structure includes 82 units of housing ranging from studios to two-bedroom duplexes. The exterior design calls for warm-toned masonry, complemented by lighter, metal-clad facade accents on the upper floors.
The L-shape configuration of the building defines a landscaped courtyard, connecting the complex with running and walking trails of the adjacent conservation area and views to Long Island Sound.
